Traveling from Costa Rica to the United States

Per new CDC guidelines, all travelers age 2 years and older who are returning to the United States must have proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to boarding. AZOVA has partnered with select resort and laboratory testing sites in Costa Rica to allow you to get tested for your flight back home. Find a location and schedule a test below.

Important things to know

• Schedule your test ahead of your trip. You will need a negative test result 72 hours before departure back to the United States. Your appointment time should be 72 hours before your departure time. Schedule an appointment for each traveler age 2 and older.
• The test performed will be a nasal swab COVID-19 RT-PCR test and is approved for travel back to the United States. Costa Rica recently approved antigen testing ONLY for return travel (not for diagnosis) but antigen tests are not yet available in Costa Rica.
• The cost of the test is $119 USD. You will pay online prior to arriving for your test.
• You will receive a digital copy of your results through the AZOVA app and website within 72 hours of your test. Have a copy—digital or physical—on hand for when you travel back to the United States. Your test results will also be added to your COVID Credentials, your shareable COVID-19 passport.
